What is orzo?
Orzo is Italian for "barley" due to its resemblance to the grain in its unprocessed form. Orzo is actually small rice-shaped pasta.
If you don't have orzo, any pasta of your choice will do!
This recipe is so simple to prepare!
What Cajun Spice mix should I use?
You can buy some great ready made Cajun seasonings in the supermarket, usually where all the herbs and spices are. If you wish to make your own, this recipe is great:
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 ½ teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 ¼ teaspoons dried oregano
1 ¼ teaspoons dried thyme
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Just mix everything together until blended, and store in a container.
