I love to create new dishes and experiment with different products to come up with new flavours. It is how I come up with new flavours and ideas, and I relish in being set a challenge.
I was set a challenge to come up with a dish based around one of the products available from the Ciao Gusto Italian Deli at Ocado. For the first time, a simple tab brings together over 30 of Italy’s most popular brands, so you can find exactly what you’re looking for – and discover new and exciting ingredients – in just one click.
There’s more information about the brands too – many of which are still owned and run by the same families who established them – some as far back as in the 1800’s.
I chose Ponti Balsamic Vinegar Of Modena, as I thought I could come up with a great recipe with it. I really love balsamic vinegar, especially on salads and in sauces, and use it in lot's of recipes. I wanted to make a recipe that was as simple to make as it is to locate these top quality brands now.
This is when I came up with my Balsamic BBQ Pulled Chicken. It's as simple as making up a sauce, putting the ingredients in the slow cooker, and waiting to be able to shred the chicken.
The balsamic vinegar is so rich and delicious, and is perfect for this sauce. It adds a real depth of flavour and is very versatile.
