Recipe: Homemade Basil Pesto

If you love pesto and are used to eating the shop bought stuff, I really recommend that you try this out instead!  It is really easy to make and takes no time at all, and you can't beat the freshness and satisfaction of making it yourself!


You will need:- 
100g pine nuts
large bunch of basil
100g parmesan, grated
200ml olive oil, plus extra for storing
2 garlic cloves
Squeeze of lemon juice
Sea Salt and Black pepper

Method:-

Lightly toast the pine nuts in a pan until lightly golden

Add to a blender and blitz along with all the ingredients.

You should be left with a nice smooth pesto paste, if not add a little more olive oil.

Heat some pasta and stir the pesto through, as easy as that!
